Mini sessions are only available on select dates, for students and/or boarders at the host barn. They are scaled down versions of my standard sessions and are a great introduction if you’re not quite prepared for the investment a standard session requires. Mini sessions require help from the barn owner or manager to make the day run smoothly, but in return I offer a free standard mini session for the host to use for themself or give away to a student. If you’re interested in hosting a mini session day at your barn, send me an e-mail at jcspenny@gmail.com to work out the details.

What is the main difference between a standard session and a mini session?
There are a few differences. For starters, time. Mini sessions are short and to the point. While I still take the time to get to know you and your horse, keep in mind that there are several people to shoot during a mini session day. We’ll be nailing out the same shots for everyone. Standard sessions are a lot more personalized. We have the time to slow down and really make the session your own!
Post processing is another big difference not everyone considers. If you want a lot of fancy editing done to your photos, mini sessions aren’t for you. While I still put a lot of care into the post work of all my mini session photos, standard sessions include a lot more heavy editing if needed. For example, if we struggle to get your horse’s ears forward during a standard session, I can adjust that afterward. I simply don’t have the time to focus on that with mini sessions.
Don’t let that sway you from a mini session, though. I still stand behind my work can guarantee some gorgeous images in your mini session! They are a great way for lesson kids to get some images with their favourite school pony, busy boarders who don’t think they have the time to devote to a full session right now, or anyone just curious about what a session with me is all about.
